It all started in 1978 or '79 when I had to pick up a Beechcraft Baron with an undercarriage problem and fly it back to Jandakot. The property at Cordering that I picked it up from belonged to Dennis Earnshaw who had sighted what became known as the 'Cordering Cougar' due to many sightings in the area.

I spoke to dennis about the sightings and thus became interested in the 'Big cats' and leading on from that I became interested in the number of Tasmanian Tiger sightings in Western Australia.
