What kind of traps did the hunters back in the 19th century use to capture Thylacines alive?

there is a picture in one of the major books on the tt, will check title, cannot reproduce as book is copyright. Trap is shown as a steel cage with a vertically sliding door released by trip line

Snares were used - both designed to catch the animal's leg or neck. Otherwise cage traps of various designs were used. Eric Guiler and Phillipe Godard's book, Tasmanian Tiger: A lesson to be learnt provides photos and illustrations of both.
