When the documentary about the thylacine was produced for a recent show called Animal X, supposedly they tried to get some footage that shows a thylacine drinking from a reservoir. They were not able to get this footage.

Does anyone know anything more about it? Is there anywhere you can see it? Are there any still photos from this footage? What have the various thylacine experts said about it?

Any leads on this topic would be great.

I heard that while filming a wildlife documentary in Australia, a thylacine casually walked past in the background...

I don't remember where I read this however, and there was no proof of the claim.

Thanks for posting this, Mari. It sort of sounds apocryphal; almost too good to be true. Here is someone was filming something for a documentary of some sort, and lo and behold, a thylacine is noted in the background later.

My guess is that if this story were real, the experts would have already heard about it and would have wanted to see the footage. If a real thylacine wandered casually into a film, in good focus, I think we all would have heard about it by now.

I would still love to see a link for this if it exists. Has anyone else heard about this incident? Any leads are welcome.
