I am new to these boards, but have been reading about the thylacine for years. I am glad that there is finally a website that has a forum with message boards.Has anyone seen the photos that an ever-anonymous German tourist took, supposedly of a thylacine? His brother gave them to some people to examine, but then took them back again. So no one has been able to authenticate them. The main opinion seems to be that they are of a thylacine; whether they are genuine or not is another story. No web searches yield the pictures. Has anyone seen them? IP: Logged |

Hi--first off, thanks for responding. It is nice to see that these boards are active.Sadly, that photo with that story about the German tourist is the one that Mike Bowers created. What he did was attempt to reproduce the German tourist's photo. The write-up of how he did it is in the story, and the photo is credited to him (look below the picture). I also thought, when I first read this story, that this was the real photo. Alas, it is not. I don't think that anyone may have seen the real photo except the people to whom it was shown, and they were not allowed to keep it, since the brother of the tourist took it with him. If anyone else has any leads on this photo, please post them. Thanks. IP: Logged |

The original photos, along with the alleged story of how they were obtained, has just been posted at Cryptomundo: http://www.cryptomundo.com/bigfoot-report/thylacine-photos/ IP: Logged |

Hi Mari--Wow, thanks so much for the real photos! Now I know what Mike Bowers was imitating in the first story link.I studied the photos, and read the various replies on that site. I can only agree with what most of the responders said. The photos are far too blurry to determine what is in the picture. My digital camera doesn't take photos like that, and my dates and months are always accurate. Having said that, though, I of course want to believe that the explanations for these descrepencies are genuine, as are the photos. However, I really have no idea what I am seeing. I know that Nick Mooney thought they were of a thylacine; however, he also wanted to be able to examine the photos. No one has been able to do that. I hope that that will still happen. Again, thanks so much for posting this; any possible thylacine photo is well worth seeing. IP: Logged |

Hi Trout--Thanks for posting. What exactly do you mean? I know that these are just scans from newspaper photos, and hence probably much worse than the originals. Is that what you meant? Or are these photos not the right ones at all?If they are not the right ones at all, do you have a link to the real ones? I would love to see them. Also, being in Tasmania, have you heard any more about this? Any help you could give here is appreciated. IP: Logged | |
